A small, modular powerhouse
A little speaker that makes a very big impression. A power connection and Wi-Fi access are enough for this little guy to fill even medium size rooms with rich, high-definition sound. A free app allows you to access music from your own private collection as well as streaming services and Internet radio. Alternately, 4 preset buttons allow you to get your favourite streams of music started right away. A volume regulator and on/off switch are also included for directly controlling the system.
The little One S works with a wide range of streaming services as well as your own music collection stored on USB or DLNA enabled devices. You can also send music stored on your smartphone or tablet directly, wirelessly, and losslessly to the One S.
The little One S is jam-packed with high-end acoustic and streaming hardware including:
- A 2-way coaxial system consisting of a 100 mm midbass driver with forward placed 20 mm tweeter. Not only does this arrangement allow more drivers to be placed in a smaller space, it approximates a point source for an acoustically superior result. The same system used in our Stereo Cubes has garnered the system wide-spread praise for its powerful, clear and detailed sound.
- A long throw 100 mm midrange driver allows the One S to produce amazingly deep, rich and responsive bass.
- Side-mounted 80 mm passive radiators give the system an incredible 45 Hz low end.
- A digital signal processor using a sophisticated equalizer to eliminate any resonances or gaps in the bass range for a nearly perfectly linear frequency response and true-to-source playback. Equalizer presets adjust the sound for the kitchen, bathroom and living room for an optimal sound.
Thanks to a low noise 50 watt class D amplifier, the One S produces incredibly high, distortion-free levels in even larger rooms.
If the One S is combined with other Raumfeld devices, the entire multi-room system can be centrally controlled with the Raumfeld App as well.
Built to last
An aluminium cover adorns the front of the One S. The control buttons are made from pleasantly soft silicone that are perfect for use in a messy environment like the kitchen as it's easy to wipe off a bit of Nutella or jam. Robust fabric covers protect the drivers and rubber rings on the bottom guarantee secure placement.
The One S can be easily wall mounted
Integrated keyhole brackets make it easy to mount the system on a wall. Flexible wall mounts are also available as additional accessories.
Setting up the system is easy and no other devices are needed to make i t work other than a Wi-Fi router and smartphone/tablet.

Raumfeld One S – Sound Quality "The Raumfeld One S is an impressive-sounding speaker, especially when you consider its diminutive size. In some ways it’s even better than the current leader of the pack, the Sonos Play:1. It uses the same two-way coaxial system as the excellent Raumfeld Stereo Cubes we reviewed recently. The 90mm mid-range driver, 25mm tweeter and two woofers provide a solid sound you’d expect to hear coming from something much, much bigger. We don’t expect hi-fi-quality sound from a speaker this size and price, but music is clear, detailed and packs an impressive punch at higher levels. The One S can certainly fill a medium-sized room with rich, distortion-free sound. Where the Raumfeld falls a little short is the low-end. Bass is a touch limited, even more so than the smaller Sonos Play:1. Unlike the cheaper TrustedReviews Awards-winning Samsung M3, however, the sound never gets muddied on bass-heavy tracks. It remains balanced and clear throughout, if a little weak. Listening to some Tricky and hip-hop albums lacked the low-end oomph that brings that genre to life. At top levels treble can be a little harsh too, but the midrange packs plenty of detail and clarity. These issues are minor – most people not obsessed with audio fidelity will be thoroughly impressed with the power and sound quality of Raumfeld’s little marvel. Overall we ever so slightly prefer the One S to the Sonos and Samsung, both in terms of a balanced sound and top volume level. If you’re into bass-heavy tracks, though, the Sonos or Samsung may be better bets."

But even smaller details like the rubberized buttons for safe playback in bathrooms or the possibility to turn off the status LEDs for use in the bedroom makes the Raumfeld One S an absolutely top product. The only real point of criticism is that a LAN cable is required for the setup (Wi-Fi!). On the other hand, the Raumfeld One S can be purchased for just 250 Swiss francs.
