Read more atRead more at"...the Teufel Theater 500 S performs at a level that, in some aspects, can even compete with speakers from higher classes."
"The Teufel Theater 500 S should by no means be reduced to its attractive price. Even if you try to ignore it—which, admittedly, is difficult—we are dealing with a mature and well-balanced compact speaker that does not rely on cheap effects to impress. Its unusually powerful bass response, given its cabinet size, does not come across as forced or bloated, but as coherent, tight, and controlled."

"The Theater 500S already put on quite a show visually alone […]."
"With plenty of punch and a truly enjoyable sonic performance, the Theater 500S deliver a lively and engaging sound. They dig a little deeper in the bass than the Ultima 20 and offer a fresh, dynamic sound profile. In terms of balance and transparency, they hold their own well and also deliver remarkably good results with demanding classical music."
Read more at“…true all-round speakers…”
Teufel advertises the Theater 500S on its website with the statement: “The Theater 500S is therefore one of the most bass-strong bookshelf speakers available.” This is in fact not just a marketing promise, but reflects reality. Whatever we listen to, the impressively built bass foundation always stands out. We almost suspect someone has smuggled a subwoofer into the listening room that is secretly assisting. But that is not the case, we can assure you.
The Teufel Theater 500S are true all-round bookshelf speakers. Whether for home cinema, gaming consoles, or hi-fi amplifiers, they deliver excellent performance for their €450 price point. Their sound is never analytically precise, but rather pleasing and full-bodied. Yet this is exactly what makes them so enjoyable and ensures hours of listening pleasure without ear fatigue. A subwoofer? No, nobody needs one with these Teufel speakers.
Read more at"...has real energy and character, delivering distortion-free performance even at higher volumes..."
"The Theater 500S has real energy and character, delivering distortion-free performance even at higher volumes without becoming bright or harsh. That said, it is not tuned towards a warm or soft presentation. However […] given its price, it performs very well in terms of separation and refinement […] ""The Teufel Theater 500S is a pleasant surprise in the best sense. It is important to keep in mind that this is a speaker in the €500 range, yet it delivers a lively, energetic and dynamic performance. […] A bookshelf speaker that feels entirely coherent for its price, offering a high level of enjoyment and fun factor."
